Company’s Evolution
Fortune (Jiangsu) Multimedia Co., Ltd. (FMC) was jointly funded by the world’s largest optical disc manufacturer, Taiwan CMC group, and Gangzha Economic Development Zone General Company. It started ground breaking in the beginning of 2002, then installed most advanced three molder type of recordable disc replication systems and started to produce CD-R discs in September of 2002. After two rounds of investment raising, the total investment with FMC has exceeded 100 million dollars, which FMC has become the most rapid growing optical disc manufacturer in China.

Marketing Strategy
FMC’s major OEM customers are famous name brands like Philips, TDK, Imation, Verbatim and Memorex, etc. So far FMC exports more than 90% of products to the United States, Europe, and Japan. In order to meet the fast growing domestic market demand, FMC plays a marketing strategy of OEM for domestic brands and develops it’s own brands like YONGXINGDUO and Mr. Data. Currently, FMC has established the relationship with the major domestic name brand distributors and provides the excellent quality and service to expand the market.

Quality & Management
As a technology oriented products, the stability, writing speed and capacity are the key indexes of the CD-R discs, which directly reflects the quality level and influences the disc price as well. In 2002, FMC raised the CD-R’s writing speed to the leading 52X and the capacity to 750MB. In March 2003 FMC’s CD-R disc was recognized as the High Quality Product by the China Optical Disc Research Center after a comprehensive test. Based on the strict and effective management, the company was successfully certified the ISO9001 System by British Lloyd’s In August of 2003. At the same time FMC passed the audits by various OEM customers, such as Philips,Verbatim, Wal Mart, Imation, TDK, etc.

The Blueprint
Since established in 2002, FMC has received considerable cares and supports from the government officers in all levels. Already grown up to be the biggest modern disc manufacturer in China, FMC is devoting to be the top optical disc producer in the world as well. At the same time, FMC is planning to IPO and trying to operate as a public company in every aspect. In September 2003 the company completed its third phase 15000m2 new facility, and has reached a monthly output over 100 million yuan with 1000 employees shortly after.

In order to become bigger and stronger, and to raise Mainland China’s position in the world optical industry, FMC plans to acquire another 200 acres of land in Nantong Gangzha Economic Development Zone in 2004, and will focus on the developing of DVD-R disc while continuously expand the CD-R business.
