The segment car is the supporting vehicle of the locomotive, which is used for the duct piece transport in shield tunnel construction.

Segment car is comprised of the following three parts, i.e. frame, running gear & braking, and car body.
(1) Frame: box-type structure, with great load bearing, good rigidity and simple structure etc.
(2) Running gear: it is a two-wheel-set pedestal structure of non-bogie, with vibration damping realized by coil spring. One end of the body is equipped with hand brake disc, which is vertical and facilitates the operation.
(3) Body: welded on the frame and designed as the inclined step structure to match with the positioning of duct piece. 30mm thick rubber buffer is placed on the inclined plane where the duct piece touches with the body, to protect the duct piece against colliding with the body and prevent the duct piece from damage. In addition, checkered plate is paved on the surface of the car body. Therefore, this type of segment car is also convenient for carrying the scattered materials.
