- Company Profile
Surge protection devices installed in every electrical switchboard are designed to protect against transient surge conditions, thereby preventing the spread of overvoltages in electrical installations and loads. Large single surge events, such as lightning, can reach hundreds of thousands of volts and can cause immediate or intermittent equipment failure. However, lightning and utility anomalies account for only 20% of transient surges. The remaining 80% of surge activity is internally generated. While these surges may be small in magnitude, they occur more frequently, and sustained exposure can degrade sensitive electronics within a facility.
