SL5000/SL6000 is a new platform of large-scale intelligent offshore wind turbines developed by
Sinovel basing on the wind resources and climate characteristics of China's coastal areas. The power
of machine is in the range of 5 - 6MW and the rotor diameter is from 139 to 170m. This series has
many patented technologies and can adapt to severe environmental conditions such as typhoon,
heavy salted air and ultra-high temperature etc. The machine’s stability and reliability have been
subject to the actual operational experience of the offshore wind farm for 8 years. Basing on the
above-mentioned platform, the power generation performance index and reliability of the SL5000ⅢB
offshore wind turbine are at the international advanced level.
