The 7-pin 24V system is currently the most widely used system for electrical connections between truck and trailer or semi-trailer in the commercial vehicle sector. The system is mostly used for applications with standard requirements. The system consists of a normal connector according to ISO 1185, type N, and an additional connector, type S, according to ISO 3731. The supplementary system is differentiated from the normal system by having white housings or contact inserts and a non- interchangeable contact layout.
