band saw

A sawing machine that uses a ring-shaped endless saw blade to surround two saw wheels and make continuous rotary movements in the same direction for sawing. It is used to cut logs, split plate square timber, and large board skins into thin plates or small squares. It can also be used to cut raw edge boards into whole edge boards or square timber.
