Applications are found in situations characterized by heavy load and shock load , and also by high-speed rotation. These bearings are separable formed bearings, and convenient to be mounted and dismounted. They are designed as types of single, double and multiple rows among which the single row cylindrical roller bearings are most applicable. Normally these bearings can accommodate radial load only, none but single row bearings with ribs both on inner and outer rings can carry partial lighter axial load.

    Single row cylindrical roller bearings are classified by ribs as types of N0000 without ribs on outer rings and with double ribs on inner rings; NU0000 without ribs on inner rings and with double ribs on outer rings; NJ0000 with double ribs on outer rings and with single rib on inner rings; NF0000 with double ribs on inner rings and with single rib on outer rings;NUP0000 with double ribs on outer rings and with single rib on inner rings and also with end rings etc.

    Double row cylindrical roller bearings have forms of cylindrical bore and tapered bore. They have features of tighter structure, strong rigidity heavier load carrying capacity, slighter deformation while loading. These bearings are most suitable for machine tool spindles. NN and NNU structure bearings dont limit the displacement between axis and housing, are normally used as non-locating bearing.

    Applications of cylindrical roller bearings are mostly found in middle-sized and large-sized motors, electricity generators, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, machine tool spindles, deceleration devices, unloading and lifting machines and other industrial machines.
