CMC has been striving to develop the international project contracting in light industry and now has opened up the favorable situation.

In 2004, CMC undertook the modern sugar plant of Skelton in Guyana as a general contractor, with the contracted amount of over US$100 million. It is the biggest sugar refinery project in Guyana, even in Caribbean areas until now. With the advanced exudation method adopted and presently sophisticated equipment gathered from countries, combining with the highly-automated control technology, this project undoubtedly would create a modern sugar plant representing the supreme technology of the international sugar manufacturing industry.
In 2008, CMC undertook Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant in Vietnam as a joint contractor, the yearly productivity of urea being 750,000 tons and the total contracted amount being about US$574 million. The project for nitrogen fertilizer plant project of Ca Mau in Vietnam is the symbol that the company marches into the Vietnamese market of light industry, also laid the good foundation to carry out the other light-industry projects in Vietnam.
In addition, CMC is paying close attention to a lot of light-industry projects of Africa and Latin American countries so as to strive for creating more brilliance based on them.
