CMC enjoys a high reputation in the field of international project contracting in energy and energy investment,

especially in the mining and electric power industries. CMC, as a general contractor, has undertaken the coalmine project with an annual output of 1 million tons located in Barapukuria, Bangladesh. Regarding this project as starting point, it has also successively undertaken the two great follow-up related projects of the construction of a 2×125MW coal fired power plant and the coalmine management & production project in the same location with the high-quality service, the total amount on three contracts reaching nearly US$500 million, which is an pioneering work in the history of China’s enterprises in overseas project contracting. This is the first modern coalmine and first coal-fired power plant in Bangladesh. It has been the largest project of the export of technology and labor service that China has in Bangladesh ever since.

At present, CMC is greatly developing the Sonda-Jherruk Integrated Coalmine & Power Plant Project. Based on BOT form, this project will become the significant one for the company to realize the tremendous development. Meanwhile, CMC is also steadily moving forward the energy-related investment in Vietnam, Iran, etc.
