This standard is concerned with the requirements for the lateral protection devices (side guards) of trucks and trailers having maximum mass exceeding 3.5 tones used for the carriage of goods. This standard does not apply to tractors for semi-trailers and vehicles designed and constructed for special purposes where it is not possible for practical reasons to fit such lateral protection
